I wrote this poem /article /observation in October 2017 (published November 2017).
Various social issues in the world were coming into the spotlight and coming to a head, and for good reason. Black Lives Matter, #MeToo, The Women’s March, Standing Rock, were among those, mostly centered in the U.S., along with Every Child Matters in Canada, Brexit in the UK, and various climate actions among other movements that reverberated around the globe.
It felt like a time of turmoil and a time of hope.
…And still does.
