I’ve just come back from a walk in Kensington Gardens. I bought a sandwich at the snack bar near the Diana Memorial Playground, sat on a bench to eat it then walked down to Kensington Palace to give a little wave to Will and Kate 😉.
I have to keep reminding myself that this is now my life.
I won’t be going home in a few days. In fact I no longer have a home to go home too. I’ve given it up along with most of my possessions. I’m simply following my heart to see where it leads me. This week that’s central London.
People keep asking me if I’m excited to be doing this and oddly the answer is no. I’m not sure the word for it, but excited isn’t it.
It simply feels like I’m stepping into and living a fuller version of myself. It feels like a natural progression. It was easy to do and feels right on all levels.
I’m not in search of anything either – just curious about what lays ahead and I’m open to it all.
It took me years to get to this point.
The dream for many years was simply to travel more. That was a big enough dream back then because it already seemed unreachable.
However, once I began to make occasional then more frequent travel a reality, other possibilities emerged and grew within my heart.
Doing the inner work allowed me to work through every excuse, hesitation and what if?
I addressed all the reasons, resistance and every why not until all that was left was an enthusiastic why not?!
Looking back, it all started with one question:
What do I really want for the rest of my life?
So often we get stuck in our day-to-day routines, roles and obligations. We go through our days, weeks and months with blinders on just trying to get done what needs to get done.
Before you know it, years have passed and you still want what you want. Except resentment, regret, resolve, disappointment, disillusionment, and/or dejection have taken over.
You’ve stopped believing you can have it, or worse, that you deserve it.
It doesn’t have to be that way.
You CAN have it and you DO deserve it.
This one question is an invitation to listen within.
It’s a chance to start envisioning something more so you can start taking the baby steps to get there.
Here’s a hint:
The more general you are with your answer, the easier it is to begin taking action.
For instance, if what you desire feels big and unreachable from where you currently are you’re likely to talk yourself out of trying. You’ll let nay-sayers sway you to stay in your (their) comfort zone.
However, if you get down to the most general thing you’re interested in, ie: you want to feel freer, happier, calmer, more playful…(whatever it is for you), you can start moving toward it while keeping the big vision in your awareness.
So when you ask yourself, “What do I really want for the rest of my life?,” what’s at the core of the big dream? How can you add more of it into your life right now?
Allow your core desire to lead you toward your vision and you’ll get there much sooner and with more ease. (And who knows…it may end up being so much better than you’ve imagined.)
I may have moved but I’m still here for you. I have a number of courses and products to help you be heartfully happy in business and life.
