I first started meditating when I was 16 years old; long before it was as accepted as it is today.
In fact, I felt like I was doing something I shouldn’t, so I did it in secret.
It was something I dabbled with because, truthfully, I was a bit frightened of what might happen.
Because of that, it didn’t become a practice until I was in my 40’s and really needed some higher guidance.
Still, I meditated sporadically and didn’t fully trust what I was ‘getting’. However, I discovered that the more I did it, the more it gave back.
Now I feel an almost constant connection with my Soul and higher guidance.
Usually when I meditate, I just sit and listen to what my Soul wants me to know. That’s how Love Notes from your Soul came about.
Then one day in November 2020, I decided to have a conversation with my Soul and ask it a number of questions.
Some were questions I’d recently been considering, like “What is God?” (for someone who’s non-religious, I hadn’t given this much thought before) and “Why is this pandemic happening?”
Others were questions I’d been pondering for years, like “Am I here at this time for a reason?” and “Are we each given one lesson?”
For the first time, I voice-recorded what I was receiving.
When our chat was complete, I felt satisfied with the answers, yet there was a part me (my inner critic) that wondered if I was making it up.
Last week, for the first time since I recorded it, I listened to the conversation again and, well, I leave it to you to come to your own conclusion.
Since our souls speak the same language, perhaps what was shared was meant for you, too.
Here is my conversation with my Soul, recorded November 10, 2020:
Me: Dear Soul, What are you?
My Soul:
I am light. I am the light behind your eyes and the light force in your being. I am more than your body. I expand beyond your body. We are one. I am in you and you are in me.
Me: Are we different from other souls? Are we separate?
My Soul:
We are individual beings of light that shine down on the earth that touch all that we see and affect all around us. Yet we come from one source, like rays of sunshine. We are brightness. We are lightness. We are love. We are ever expanding.
Me: Why are we in physical form?
My Soul:
That’s how we get to play.
Me: What is play for you?
My Soul:
Play for me is play for you. What is playful for you is playful for me. I delight in all you do. I feel all you do. I am alive when you’re alive. I am joyful when you are joyful. The more you are joyful, the more happy you are, the brighter the light shines, the more the energy expands, the more good you are doing in the world, the more you affect other people. When your light is dimmed, when you are sad, the charge is not there. It’s like plugging in an appliance into an electrical socket. The more energy you have from being happy, the more energy you have from being love, the more the electricity is circulated. When you are sad, it’s like the plug has been removed from the socket. The energy is not there. The appliance cannot run.
Me: What do you want me to know right now?
My Soul:
That you are love. That you are love and you are loved. And you will always be loved. You have always been loved.
Me: Is this my first time in physical form? Is this YOUR fist time in physical form?
My Soul:
Oh no. I’ve been here many times.
Me: What have you done before?
My Soul:
Much the same.
Me: Why is this pandemic happening? What are we to learn from it?
My Soul:
Humans need to realize that they cannot control everything. They need to release the notion of control. They need to reconnect to their heart. And you’re helping them do that. Humans need to find joy and happiness again. They need to know that they are beings of light. That everything they touch is affected, or infected. This pandemic is showing how a virus can spread. If you think of the virus as love, you can see how fast that love can spread. It’s time to infect the world with love.
Me: How do we do that?
My Soul:
By being love and being joyful. Having fun. And playing. And letting go of restrictions. You limit yourselves. You think you can’t when you can.
Me: What am I here to do?
My Soul:
To have fun. To play. Don’t make things so hard. Life is easy if you let it. Keep expanding your heart. Remove the shields. You’re doing a great job. Keep connecting with me. Let your energy expand, just like you’re doing now.
Me: Are you and God the same?
My Soul:
We are one and the same. Just as you and I are one and the same.
Me: What is God?
My Soul:
You. God is light and love and expansion. It’s the pulse of the Universe. Your scientists are discovering more and more galaxies. There is no end. There’s only expansion.
Me: Why do you come into physical form? Why do you come to earth?
My Soul:
We created earth. It is our playground.
Me: Why do we have free will?
My Soul:
That’s how we have fun. We allow you to play and create your own movie, so to speak. And we go along for the ride. We sit back until we’re asked to be a part of your movie. Many of you don’t ask. So we watch the movie.
Me: Do you want to play in the movie?
My Soul:
We want you to have fun. It’s fun for us when you are having fun. When you’re having fun, you understand who you are. You understand what you came for.
Me: Do we choose our bodies? Do YOU choose our bodies?
My Soul:
We choose, yes.
Me: Do you choose our families? Our parents? Our siblings?
My Soul:
Yes, we do.
Me: Do you choose the lesson we’re to learn? Do we come here to learn a lesson?
My Soul:
Yes, you do.
Me: What is that lesson?
My Soul:
To love yourselves. When you love yourselves, you love others. And when you love others, you expand your energy. And when you expand your energy, you affect the whole planet. There’s a sickness on your planet. That’s why you have this pandemic. It’s the virus that spreads to show you how love can spread.
Me: Am I here to be a way-shower?
My Soul:
You are all way-showers. It’s what path you want to show. Do you want to show a path to hatred or do you want to show a path to love?
Me: What is my higher purpose here on earth?
My Soul:
To show the path to love.
Me: Is everyone meant to have a fall from grace?
My Soul:
You can’t remember if you haven’t forgotten.
Me: Is life a journey back to knowing?
My Soul:
Yes. That’s the fun of it. You come here pure and whole.
Me: Are we each given one lesson? Is it random or are we here for that lesson?
My Soul:
You are here for that lesson. Your life touches so many others and so many others’ lives touch you. How you perceive it is you – is uniquely you.
Me: Am I here at this time for a reason?
My Soul:
Of course you are.
Me: What is that reason?
My Soul:
To be the light in the world that you want to see. What do you want to see? Ask yourself that and be that. Where is there lack that you want to fill? Fill it in yourself first, and then just be the light. Spread your energy. Draw in people who need to feel that too. They’ll come to you. Shine the light on the lack you see. What do YOU know? Where did you hurt and where did you heal? You are the way-shower for those who’ve tread the same path as you. You can’t show someone a path you don’t know. You can’t walk on a path you’ve never walked on. Walk your own path. Shine your light ahead. Follow the light and others will follow you.
