How good are you at listening to your inner whispers?
Do you rarely listen, listen sometimes or listen often?
Do you take action on your whispers or do you tend to ignore them?
Simplified, happiness, in any part of your life, is the alignment of desire and action leading to a pleasing result.
You desire a piece of cake. You walk to the bakery and buy a slice. You enjoy the cake.
You desire a job you love. You learn the required skills. You enjoy your work.
You desire a loving relationship. You do the inner and outer work. You enjoy the partnership.
As you can see, there are 3 components to the formula:
Desire:
Listen FOR the desire: Tune into your heart and ask, “What do I really want?”
Listen TO the desire: Honour and trust its validity.
Action:
Take action to make your desire a reality — baby steps or giant leaps, the choice is yours — but action leads to momentum which brings what you desire closer to you.
Most importantly…
Love:
Enjoy the result! Notice and enjoy that you’re living in alignment with your heart’s desire. You wanted something and now, here it is!
If instead, you feel guilty for eating the piece of cake, get overwhelmed by all there’s still to do in the new job, focus on what’s lacking in the other imperfect human you’ve partnered with, you’ll continue to feel dissatisfied.
And if and when you ARE dissatisfied, run through the three points again. Listen to and trust your heart, take aligned action and feel the joy when it all falls into place.
Happiness is the alignment of body, mind and spirit…or desire, action and love.
